  • Notes
    • Rev. William Benjamin Bacon was born May 2, 1853, and died Feb. 11, 1932. He was married to Caroline Fuller in 1874, who preceded him to the better land in 1919. He was converted to God in 1887 under the labors of Revs. Harvey and Phoebe Hinman on Pine River, Mich., Midland Co., Mich.; and soon after he was called of God to preach. He traveled several fields in North Michigan Conference of the United Brethren Church. Then coming to California in 1910, he traveled Oakdale, Knights Landing, Woodland, Lakeview, and organized our Pixley Mission. He preached the old-time gospel. He was ordained by Bishop Barkley at the conference of 1912. The church has lost another faithful brother. When his health failed, he went to his sister, Mrs. E. Ross' home at Snohomish, Wash. He died in a hospital after an operation. He was faithful to the church and was loved by both young and old. In 1922 he married Mary Clark, who survives him.
