- aka Bette. Bette lived in Manitoba, Canada, came to Long Branch, Ontario to work at the War Plant for two years before joining the army. She came to Warminster, Ontario as a WWII Army Veteran. Buried in Plot 1C61-64 in Fair Valley Cemetery, Ontario, Canada.

Peacefully after a well-fought and lengthy struggle with cancer, at the Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital on Thursday, February 22, 2001. Betty (nee Cull). aged 77, was resident of Warminster for 50 years and beloved wife of the late Kenneth N. Mathieson (1987). Loving mother of Keith and companion Linda Cameron of Orillia, Joe and wife Donna of Warminster, Bill and wife Susan of Barrie, Donna Jones and husband Stephen of Wyevale and Linda predeceased (1976). Proud grandmother of Chad, Brandie, Tara, David, Victoria (Tori), Amanda, Jennifer and Samantha Mathieson, Sarah and Matthew Jones. Great grandmother of Nikala, Phoenix and Boston. Dear sister of Lilian Wilson and husband John of Dryden, Ont., Millicent McCullum of B.C., Wilburt Cull and wife Nettie of Manitoba and Rita predeceased. Betty's community spirit, generosity, and wonderful sense of humour will be fondly remembered by her many friends and neighbours. The late Mrs. Betty Mathieson will rest at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St. N., Orillia from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 2 o'clock on Sunday afternoon, February 25th, until time of funeral service in the chapel at 4 o'clock. Spring interment St George's Cemetery, Fairvalley, Oro-Medonte Twsp. If desired, Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital Capital Campaign, would be sincerely appreciated.
