In the Anglican Church Archives, microfilm Reel 249, St James Anglican Church, Orillia, Ontario, Canada, Baptisms 1872-1948 recorded: David Thomson Walker, born 27 October 1916, baptized 12 November 1916 in St James Church. Parents were George Daniel Walker, machinist and Margaret Walker of Orillia. Baptism by Rev. J.R.S. Boyd. Served in the Royal Canadian Air Force 1941-1945. Was an Aircraftman with the R.C.A.F. in Newfoundland in 1942 when his father died. Was Cpl. David Walker, R.C.A.F. overseas, in 1943 when his brother Johnstone Walker died. He wrote poetry. For 14 years he operated City Auto Services at Colborne & Matchedash, Orillia. For 3 years was a mechanic for Clarke Transport. In 1961 he became the Orillia Legion bartender and caretaker and continued to write poetry. Was living in Orillia, Orillia Township, Simcoe County, Ontario, Canada in 1955. Was living in Orillia in 1968 when his mother died. Buried with his parents.

Suddenly at the Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital on Sunday November 29, 1987, David Walker, beloved husband of Gloria Greatwich of 263 Millard Street, Orillia; in his 71st year. Loving father of Bernice Anne of Wales and Pamela Mary and Barry Zegler of Kaslo, B.C. Grandfather of Morgan and Alex Zegler. Dear brother of Mae Walker of Orillia and Don Walker of Peterborough, Mrs. Eunice Phillips of Horseshoe Valley Road and Grace Walker of Toronto. Pre-deceased by sister Mrs. Wilma Johnstone of Ajax and Johnstone Walker of Orillia. Resting at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West Street North, Orillia from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 Tuesday. Service in the chapel on Wednesday December 2 at 2:00 p.m. Interment St Andrew's-St James Cemetery, Orillia. Members of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #34 Orillia are asked to gather at the chapel for service Tuesday evening at 7:30 p.m. If desired, memorial donations to the Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital Foundation or a charity of your choice would be gratefully appreciated by the family.
