- Birth registration 043513 Archives of Ontario microfilm MS929 Reel 203. Was born at 8:30 P.M. and the birth was attended by Dr. R.A. Harvie. Was baptized 20 September 1914 in Orillia St Andrew's Presbyterian Church by Rev. F.W. Anderson. Her marriage was performed under license K8543 by the Rev. J.A. MacInnis at the Presbyterian manse, 28 Neywash Street in Orillia, Ontario, Canada. Her cousin, Laura S. Harvie attended her and Jonathan Peter Cook's brother, Albert James Cook supported him. The bride's parents lived in Bass Lake, Ontario and the groom's parents lived in Jarrett, Ontario. The reception was held in the Old House and the toasts were proposed by J.G. Harvie, K.C. Their honeymoon was a motor trip to points east. The bride was age 31, Presbyterian; the groom was age 27, farmer, Presbyterian.
Jean and Jonathan lived in Forest Home, south of Orillia, Ontario in a grey brick house at the SW corner of McKenzie Street and Nottawasaga Street in Orillia. Elsie was the executor and heir of her uncle David Thomson's estate who died in Seattle, Washington. She made three trips there in 1953, 1957 and 1980 according to her children James and Dorothy.

Passed away at the Oak Terrace Nursing Home, Orillia on Sunday February 25th, 2001; in her 92nd year. Jean, beloved wife of the late Jonathan Cook. Loving mother of Jim Cook and his wife Lynda of Orillia and Dorothy (Dottie-Jean) and her husband Ernest Young of Lake Dalrymple. Dear grandmother of James and his wife Sumlyo of Toronto, Christopher of Toronto and Dayna and Terry of Orillia and David and his wife Nicole of Sebright. Great grandmother of Jessica, Michael, Kyla, David and Hana. The family will receive friends at the Doolittle-Carson Funeral Home, 54 Coldwater St. E.. Orillia from 7 - 9 p.m. Tuesday evening. Funeral service will be held in the Chapel on Wednesday, February 28th, 2001 at 11:00 o'clock. Spring interment St Andrew's - St James' Cemetery, Orillia. If desired, Memorial Donations to the Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
