  Marriage registration 1898-001217 Government of Manitoba Vital Statistics. Was living in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada in 1902 when his mother died. David worked for the railroad in Manitoba. When he could not get time off work to visit his sick mother in Ontario, he quit the railroad. Lived in Pense, Saskatchewan, Canada. In May 1908, the family, David, Maude and daughters Hazel, Marjorie and Helen arrived in Morse, Saskatchewan, Canada from Pense to take up residence of their homestead, SW 1/4 Section 6 Township 17 Range 7 West 3 Meridian, south east of Morse. (the property bordered on what is now Highway 19). The family lived in a rooming house in Morse while the one room "shack" was constructed on the farm. The family were driven out to the homestead on a load of lumber and household effects by a team of oxen owned by a neighbor. David was a carpenter by trade so was away working most of the time and hired someone to do the farming. He aquired the NW 31-16-7 W3, adjacent property south of the homestead. David did his own farming from 1914 to 1925 then they moved into the town of Morse. They lived on Brownlee Street. He resumed carpentry work until his retirement. Was living in Alberta, Canada in 1916 when his father died? In 1942 was living in Morse, Saskatchewan when his sister Elizabeth died. David and Maude celebrated their 50 wedding anniversary in 1948. Buried in Plot 172, Memory Lane Cemetery, Morse.
