- aka Eddy. George came from White Earth, North Dakota, USA with his parents and seven brothers and sisters in 1910 via a wagon train. George attended Fundale School District #686. George filed on homestead on NW Section 25, Township 21, Range 18, W 3rd Meridian in 1916 but joined the army in 1917.Was drafted into the army, 1st Depot Battalion, Saskatchewan Regiment No. 276710. Was 22, resident of Fundale, Saskatchewan, born Ashboy, Minn, USA on 16 October 1897, single, Lutheran, next of kin: Sam Lee of Fundale, Saskatchewan. Was 5' 9" tall, ruddy complexion, gray eyes and brown hair. When he returned from the war in 1919, he worked on various ranches. He enjoyed stampeding and bronc riding. After marrying Iola, they lived on SE 9 and SW 10-22-18-3. They purchased the Darwin School house and moved it into Lacadena. They renovated it so they could have a town house and the children could attend school in Lacadena. They moved the farm buildings in 1966 to N 1/2 22-21-18-3 (Riverview Ranch) when their property was going to be flooded by the South Saskatchewan River and Diefenbaker Dam Project. George and Iola retired to Swift Current, Saskatchewan. (according to Lacadena and District "A Link to our Heritage", George and Iola Lee, p275). Funeral service was held at Kyle United Church with Rev. Douglas Mitchell officiating. Organist was Mrs. Darlene Smith. Pallbearers were Brian, Clifford, Bill Donald and Philip Lee and Bob Jacobson. Honorary pallbearers were Gordon Mileward, Les Martin, Allan Anderson, Melvin Master, Harvey Hammell, Rusty Bird, Steven Mille and Pete Perron. Ushers were Jack Pratt and Keith Day.
