    • Erick was born and grew up in Java, now Indonesia. His father was the Dutch Govenor of Java. When his father retired, they moved back to Holland, then emigrated to Canada. Went west and bought a half section of land near Turner Valley, Alberta. Worked in the oil fields in Alberta. Had heart problems. Was a member of AF & AM Lodge in Okatoks, Alberta. Moved to British Columbia, Canada in 1951 and owned a roller skating rink in Surrey, British Columbia. Lived at 6380 King George Highway in Surrey. Jessie was working at Bella Coola, British Columbia and Erick used to come there for visits and Jessie and Sharon went to Surrey for the summers. Jessie sold the roller skating rink after Erick died in 1955. The rink later became the Surrey Market. Death registration 1955-09-003356 Government of British Columbia Vital Statistics microfilm B13223. Erick's funeral was held from Royal Oaks Funeral Chapel, Kingsway and Royal Oak Avenue, Burnaby, British Columbia with Rev. E. Parker officiating. Buried in Plot 806B, Masonic Cemetery, 4305 Halifax Street, Burnaby, British Columbia.
