  Attended Fundale School District #686. In 1954 was living at Lacadena, Saskatchewan, Canada. Moved to Swift Current, Saskatchewan then returned to Kyle, Saskatchewan. Iola was honoured in the 1967 Centennial Celebrations as the oldest resident born in the Lacadena district and still living there. (according to Lacadena and District "A Link to our Heritage", David and Florence Thomson, p359 and Centennial Year 1967, p405). Was living in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, Canada in 1971 when her brother died. Funeral service was held at Zion Luthern Church, Horse Butte District, Saskatchewan, Pastor Murray Halverson officiating. Pianist was Leslie Dryland, organist was Bev Dryland. Zion Luthern Choir sang. Pallbearers were Dale Rodland, Clifford, Danny and Donald Lee, Stan Hughes and Bob Jacobson.
