  Ralph obtained entry to a homestead property NE 4-4-22 W2 and a pre-emption homestead property NW 3-4-22 W2 on 5 August 1912. He died just before completing his homestead duties and his father applied for the Patents on 14 December 1915 and 14 October 1920 respectively. See information under Mark Alfred Hewitt. Ralph was picking rocks when it was very cold and windy and got influenza. Died of pneumonia. Ralph's father made the casket for his burial. Ralph died on the Hewitt homestead.
