MRS. MINA THOMSON. Following a stroke, Mrs. Mina Thomson, widow of John Thomson, passed away at her Canice Street home on Monday, October 30th. She was in her 71st year.
Born at Ardtrea, she lived there until her marriage to John Thomson, also of Ardtrea, about 43 years ago when she moved to Orillia where she lived ever since.
A member of the Presbyterian Church, Mrs. Thomson did not participate in any of the church's organizations but preferred to spend much of her time caring for her home.
Left to mourn her passing is one son, John Thomson of Canice and her grandson, William. Her husband predeceased her eight years ago.
The funeral service was held from Doolittle Brothers' Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 1st, with Dr. J.A. MacInnis officiating. Interment was made in St Andrew's cemetery.
The pallbearers - all nephews, were Frank Thomson, Archie Thomson, John Ross Jr., David Ross, Marr Ross, and Jack Whitney.
Among Mrs. Thomson's relatives who came to pay their respects to the deceased were her sisters, Mrs. Ethel O'Leary of Toronto, Mrs. Ida Griffis of Lindsay, Mrs. William Whitney (Elma) of Washago; and two nieces, Mrs. Nora Langley of Toronto and Elma of Lindsay.
