Dorothy Lillian Glendinning was born on the homestead in the Southcote district to Donald F. and Margaret MacKenzie Feb. 11, 1914. She attended public school in the Southcote district and High School in Strasbourg.
In 1936 she married Woodrow Glendinning. They raised 3 children, Marie, Shirley and John.
Dorothy was a homemaker and shared their home with others who needed a place to stay while going to school. She was very involved with the day to day work on their mixed farm. Almost all the food for meals (including large family gatherings) was raised and grown on the farm. Neighbors often stopped for visit, cards or a meal. Dorothy welcomed and cherished them all.
She enjoyed berry picking, travel, dances and parties. She was an active member of the United Church UCW, the Depression Dodgers Community Club and President of the Last Mountain Pioneer Home Auxiliary.
Dorothy was predeceased by her parents, sisters: Jessie Whittle, Mary Barr and brothers Alex and Duncan McKenzie.
