Took over farming the E1/2 Lot 1, Concession 8, North Orillia Township, Simcoe County, Ontario, Canada. The farm was called Grassy Point Farm, waterfront property. Was married under license L84446; groom aged 29, resident of R.R. 3 Orillia, born Orillia Township, farmer, Presbyterian; bride aged 23, resident of 192 John Street, Orillia, born Cheltenham, Ontario, United Church; witnesses Jean Thomson, 58 St Clair E., Toronto and Gerald McKechnie, 192 John St, Orillia; married in Orillia Presbyterian Church on 4 September 1943 by Rev. J.A. McInnis. (Orillia Library microfilm 539). Frank died at home on the farm. Frank's death was recorded in the United Church Archives, Severn Bridge Pastoral Charge, Burials 1975-1991, 98.018L, Box 1 File 5. The funeral service was conducted by Rev. V.A. Yano.

THOMSON, Francis Oliver (Frank) - Suddenly at his late residence, Ardtrea on Sunday, April 4, 1976, Frank Thomson, beloved husband of Ruth McKechnie, in his 72nd year. Loving father of Michael and Barbara at home, David of Acton, Donald, Richard and Judy (Mrs. Barry Lutes) all of Orillia, Jane (Mrs. Paul Teskey) of Warminster. Grandfather of Craig and Lorraine. Brother of James of Sault Ste. Marie, Murray of Bracebridge, Gwen of Orillia, Marjorie (Mrs. Jack Hunter) of Toronto, Geraldine (Jean) deceased. Resting at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West Street North, Orillia. Service at the chapel on Tuesday, April 6 at 2:00 p.m. Interment St. Andrew's Cemetery, Orillia. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ontario Heart Foundation would be appreciated.
