Hugh Thompson of Orillia beloved husband and best friend of Elaine Norma Thompson (nee Ross). Much loved father and friend of Ross and his friend Lindsay, Lisa Thompson and her friend John, Erin Thompson and her friend Ron, Meredith Thompson-Edwards and her husband Joe all of Orillia. Loving grandfather of Taylor, Lindsay, Amelia, Josie and Hughie. Dear brother of Dan and his wife Anne of Huntsville, Roy and his wife Ellen of Cobourg, Doug and his wife Joan of Abottsford, B.C., Ruth McGary of Angus, Paul and his wife Sue of Penetanguishene and the late Leona Wilson. Son of the late Ernie and Edna Thompson of Huntsville. Predeceased by his brother-in-law Marr Ross Jr. and his wife Janice. Son-in-law of the late Chum and Marr Ross Sr. Sorely missed by Auntie Margaret Ross. Also remembered by his many nieces and nephews and his friends at Lauer’s Restaurant Equipment. Visitation will be held at the Simcoe Funeral Home, 38 James St. E., Orillia on Friday, January 17th from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday January 18th from 1 p.m. until time of funeral services at 2:30 p.m. Spring interment St. Andrew - St. James’ Cemetery, Orillia.
