REAR - THOMPSON
On November 1, the McCord United Church was the scene of a charming wedding when Susan Ethel, only daughter of Mrs. Mabel E. Thomson and the late John A. Thomson, became the bride of George Clark, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. F.B. Rear of Vancouver. The officiating minister was Rev. W.E. Bannerman of LaFleche. The bride was attended by Miss Dorothy Stinson of Mankota while Harry Miracle of Vanguard attended the groom. The ushers were Ben Thomson and Zoiltan Nyiri.
To the strains of the Lohengren bridal chorus played by Mrs. Chas. Will, the bride entered the church looking charming in a floor length gown of white silk, it being the wedding dress worn by her mother thirty years ago. She carried a beautiful bouquet of colonial design. The bridesmaid's dress was a pink net over rose taffeta with a corsage of cream roses. While the register was being signed, Mrs. Bert Dykema, Vanguard rendered very sweetly, "Oh Promise Me".
After the ceremony about eighty quests adjourned to the church parlors where they partook of a sumptuous dinner, the attendants being six of the bride's girl friends. At the conclusion of the dinner, R.H. Stinson of Mankota very ably filled the position of master of ceremonies.
The bride's travelling costume was blue with wine accessories. Among the quests were friends and relatives from Kelstern, Shamrock, Neepawa, (Man.), Weyburn and Mankota.
The young couple will reside on the groom's farm near Vanguard.
