McDONOUGH Archibald William McDonough died in the Soldiers Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, November 6, at the age of 62 years. Mr. McDonough had been ill for over a year since an operation in Toronto. He had been confined to the Soldiers Memorial Hospital for three months prior to his death. He was born in Oro, the son of the late Thomas McDonough and Lilian McMillan. He entered the service of the Canadian National Railway and was employed at a number of centers. At the time of his retirement he was station agent at Lefrey. He was with the railway for about thirty-five years. He was a member of the Newmarket Presbyterian church and of the Orillia Masonic Lodge. He served overseas in the first Great War and was a member of the Canadian Legion. In 1918 he married Jessie J. Dunn, of Orillia, who survives him together with one sister, Mrs. Hanca McDonald of Caledonia and four brothers, Michael of Toronto, Jack of Owen Sound, Duncan of Orillia and Thomas of Allandale. The funeral service was held on Friday, November 8 at MacDonald's funeral parlours with the Rev. J.A. MacInnis in charge, assisted by the Rev. Mr. Sneyd. Interment was in St Andrew's cemetery. The pallbearers were Jack O'Brian and Gordon Dunn of Orillia, Jack McDonough of Toronto, Thomas McDonough of Allandale, Thomas McDonough of Caledonia and William Dunn of Bracebridge. Moved to a homestead west of Strasbourg, Saskatchewan in 1903. In 1954 they left the farm and moved into the town of Strasbourg. The ceremony was performed by Rev. T. Davis Acheson of Park River in the presence of a large gathering of intimate friends. After a sumptuous supper, which was exquisite to the guests, they were next led to another apartment to witness the many presents which were both numerous and costly. The evening was well spent in music and games, etc. The bride is one of Fertile's fairest of her sex and is highly esteemed by all who know her and will be missed here by her many friends. The groom is a bright young teacher of Walsh county and has very recently taught three terms in the Bruce school, where he first met his betrothed. Mr. Glendinning, feeling a desire for a change in occupation, has now taken up farming. He leased his father's homestead near Edinburg, where the happy couple will make their home. The nuptial knot was tied by Rev. T.D. Acheson of the Presbyterian Church. The ceremony took place at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Baird. The bride who was prettily costumed was given away by her father. The wedding supper was served in true Scotch style and was much enjoyed by the upwards of 70 wedding guests who were present. The happy couple will make their home on the Glendinning homestead at Edinburg, just vacated by the father of the groom. D.G. Patton officiating. Fanny Adeline Baird was born in Palmerston, Ontario in 1879 and in early childhood moved with her parents to Park River, N.D. in 1899 she married James Glendinning there and in 1902 the couple moved to Lumsden. In 1903 they moved to a homestead west of here where they remained until moving into town in 1940. Mrs. Glendinning was active in United Church work and was a former member of the Eastern Star. Predeceased by her husband in 1945, a son Harold in 1957 and a brother Robert in the First World War, she is survived by five sons: Caswell and Woodrow, both of Strasbourg; Alton of Rosetown, Robert of Prince George, B.C., Lorne of Regina, a daughter Mrs. A.M.
