1203 aka Bert. Born on the original Thomson homestead at Thacker, later called Colgate, near Weyburn, Saskatchewan, Canada. Bert was 1 year old when his parents homesteaded in the Milly District of Saskatchewan. Bert fell off a table when he was very young and it slightly damaged his brain. Bert attended Milly School. (In an interview with Annie Emma Hagerty August 6, 2002, she remembers Bert going to school in Moose Jaw, Dr. Graham's School for boys. He went to visit with Annie Baird in Lumsden one weekend and was remembered as having a big appitite). In 1936, Bert was working in Cupar, Saskatchewan. Farmed the east half of Section 19, Township 5, Range 7, West of the 3 Meridian in the McCord, Saskatchewan district. Bert was hospitalized in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan in May 1962 and again in August 1964. Bert inherited his mother's estate in 1963. Bert and Gladys left the farm and moved to McCord where Bert was caretaker of the rink. The Gordon Hannon family rented the farm and Wendell Hannon eventually bought it. Bert and family went to Expo 67 in Montreal, Quebec in 1967 and stayed with Wayne Thomson. Bert and Gladys separated on July 1, 1968 and divorced on November 2, 1972. Bert spent the last 25 years of his life in the Pioneer Lodge 1971 - 1994 and Ross Payant Long Term Care Home 1994 - 1996 in Assiniboia, Saskatchewan. He married Agnes MacDonald there in 1979 with Mildred Thomson and Dale Thomson as witnesses, Rev. Gerald Kennedy officiating. Bert and Agnes took a trip to visit his brother Ben in Toronto, Ontario in July 1985. Cremated. Bert's ashes are buried in Prospect Cemetery south of Ferland, Saskatchewan beside his mother and father. The family had his name added to his parents tombstone. Thomson, James Albert (I12933)

JOHNSTON: Mary Beatrice passed away at the Trillium Manor on Monday January 30, 2006 in her 85th year. Bea beloved wife of Bernal. Loving mother of Bryan and his wife Judy of Rugby. Dear grandmother of Jason of Rugby and Mark, (predeceased). Daughter of the late Archie and Minnie Thomson. Sister of Phyllis and Husband Werner "Vern" (predeceased) Hoeschele of Downsview. Aunt of Martin Hoeschele and Stephen and wife Andrea and their family. Predeceased by brother Allan Thomson. The family will receive friends at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West Street North, Orillia from 2-4 pm & 7-9 pm on Thursday. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Friday February 3rd, 2006 at 1 o'clock. Spring Interment Esson Cemetery. Mrs. J. T. Graham
Mrs. John T. Graham, daughter of the pioneer settlers of Medonte Township, Mr. and Mrs. George Thomson, died on Thursday at the age of 77 at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Hilton Leith, Orillia. Mrs. Graham had been ill for seven months.
Elizabeth Thomson was a native of Westerkirk, Dumfrieshire, Scotland. She came to Canada when quite young with her parents, who settled in Oro, but later moved to Medonte. In 1886 she married John T. Graham and all their married life was spent at Eady. Mrs. Graham was a member of St. George's church, Fairvalley and was active in the Woman's Auxiliary in her younger years.
She leaves one son, George Graham, Eady, and two daughters, Mrs. John Dunlop, Coldwater and Mrs Hilton Leith, Orillia. Another son died about twenty years ago. Also surviving are five sisters and four brothers. They are Mrs. James Russell, Calgary; Mrs. John Rumble, Hillsdale; Mrs. Arthur Moffit, Grenard; Miss Georgine Thomson and Miss Agnes Thomson, Eady; David Thomson, Morse, Saskatchewan; Archibald, Kingston; John, of Nacmino, Alberta and Robert at Eady.
The funeral was held Saturday from her residence, Eady, to St. George's church, Fairvalley, where the service was conducted by the Rev. J. Newton-Smith. Pallbearers were Messrs. Arthur Moffit, Percy Brimage, Fred Spence, Grant Blankey, John Rumble and Sydney Graham. Interment was made in Fairvalley cemetery.

Peacefully after a well-fought and lengthy struggle with cancer, at the Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital on Thursday, February 22, 2001. Betty (nee Cull). aged 77, was resident of Warminster for 50 years and beloved wife of the late Kenneth N. Mathieson (1987). Loving mother of Keith and companion Linda Cameron of Orillia, Joe and wife Donna of Warminster, Bill and wife Susan of Barrie, Donna Jones and husband Stephen of Wyevale and Linda predeceased (1976). Proud grandmother of Chad, Brandie, Tara, David, Victoria (Tori), Amanda, Jennifer and Samantha Mathieson, Sarah and Matthew Jones. Great grandmother of Nikala, Phoenix and Boston. William Alexander Edwards
William Alexander Edwards of Burks Falls, Ontario died at Mississauga General Hospital on June 27th, 1980 in his 74th year
William (Bill as he was known to everyone) was born in Raymond, Watt Township, Muskoka, on December 30th 1906. He received his early education in that locality then moved with his parents in 1915 where he continued his education at Wiseman's Corners.
In 1939 he married Alexandra MacArthur of Burks Falls. For many years he owned and operated his grocery store on the main street of Burks Falls where he faithfully served the public by making strangers as well as friends welcome.
He was a member of All Saint's Anglican Church, a part president of the Burks Falls Lions Club, a member of the Corona Masonic Lodge and a member of the Oddfellows Triumph Lodge.
Left to mourn his loss are his wife Alexandra MacArthur, his daughters Sandra and Rose Mary, sons-in-law Ross Harman and Harry Kirwin, grandchildren Susan, Bill and Craig Kirwin, Christopher, Kim, Heather and Michael Hawman all of Mississauga.
Also surviving are four sisters, Robena Parsons of Burks Falls, Beatrice Wurm of Magnetawan, Edna Litster of Englehart and Dorothy Eaton of Nova Scotia. He was predeceased by his parents, two brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services were held July 1st, 1980 in All Saint's Anglican Church, Burks Falls. Interment took place in the Burks Falls Cemetery.

As a young man, Bob went west to Drumheller area, Alberta, Canada to help with the harvest. He was an avid horseman so joined the North West Mounted Police. After World War I broke out, he transferred to the Fort Garry Horse in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada and from there went overseas. His mother, Nell, went by train to Winnipeg to say good bye. On his return to Orillia, he became a member of the Simcoe Grey Foresters Reserve. He met Beatrice Dryden through her acquaintance with his sister Caroline. They were married in St Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Orillia in the early morning, October 15, 1923, so they could catch the morning train to Toronto. Bob travelled as a salesman for his fathers Milling and Baking Co. for a time, then was a car salesman. He always wanted to farm so around 1938 the family moved to Alliston, Ontario to a farm known as the Loblaw Farm (south half). When World War II broke out, help was scarce so he had to give up and moved to Aurora, Ontario where he travelled for Kilgour Paper Co. and latterly ran Dawson's Grill. In 1945 he purchased another farm in Streetsville, living there until October 1951 when they moved to Mimico. He was back to selling cars for Ontario Automobile, 1100 Bay Street, Toronto, Ontario. After his daughter Mary Yvonne's husband Ted Stacey died, leaving her with five young children, and working the night shift at Peel Memorial Hospital, Bob and Bea moved back to Streetsville to be near their grandchildren. ROBERT H. NORRIS
Robert H. Norris, 66, of 16 Burnhamthorpe Park Blvd., mathematics teacher in Toronto for 35 years, is being buried in Park Lawn Cemetery this afternoon. He died Monday night at High Park Curling Club.
Funeral service is at the Yorke Chapel of Turner and Porter at 3 p.m.
Mr. Norris was born in Belhaven near Sutton, educated in Markham, and was graduated from Queen's University in 1921. He served overseas in World War I.
Mr. Norris taught at Parkdale Collegiate until his retirement seven years ago. Since then he has taken an active interest in his Orillia district farm where he raised beef cattle.
He was a champion tennis player during his student days and an active curler. He was an elder at Islington United Church.
Mr. Norris leaves his wife, Jean; two daughters, Mrs. D.C. MacTavish of Waterloo and Mrs. C.B. Dixon of Toronto and five grandchildren.
His brother, John Taylor Norris who died two years ago, taught at Humberside Collegiate.

In 1979 was living in Mississauga, Ontario, retired, enjoying woodworking with driftwood and had a cottage at Lions Head. Loved great grandpa of Ethan. Brother of Marion Clark of Toronto; brother-in-law of Hilda Bridge of Listowel, Grace Bridge of Palmerston and Anne (Taylor) Payne of Earlsfield, London, England. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by one sister Jean Hayes, two brothers Ross Bridge and Walter Bridge, two brothers-in-law Bill Clark and Donald Hayes, and one sister-in-law Betty Dawe. To honour Bob's wishes Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends at the Heritage Funeral Home, Palmerston on Friday evening May 5th, 2006 from 7-9 p.m. A private Family Memorial Service of Remembrance will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel followed by interment in Palmerston Cemetery.
