Brian Allan Glendinning passed away July 4 at the Portage General Hospital.
He is survived by his loving wife and best friend Jeanette (Chabon); son Russell and grandson Chris of Winnipeg; daughter Sandra Gordon and children Daniel and Terri-Lynn of Winnipeg; brother Ralph and wife Arlene and family of Elie; brother Ted and wife Muriel of Victoria, B.C.; brother Richard and wife Arlene and family of Ontario; sister-in-law Susan Kipper and husband Rick of Winnipeg; Yvonne Kirstein and son Evan of Redcliff, Alta.; Kristel and Bert Schneider and children Adam, Sara and William of Medicine Hat, Alta.; Kurt and Margaret Kirstein and daughters Tina and Jade of Winnipeg.
Brian was employed with the Winnipeg Fire Department from 1 February 1957 to 21 April 1990, retiring with the rank of Captain.
Special thanks to Dr. Rice and all the nurses at the Portage Hospital for the great care Brian received during his illness.
As per Brian's wishes, cremation has taken place and no service will be held.
Donations in Brian's memory may be made to the Fire Fighter's Burn Fund, c/o Children's Hospital.

Richard only appeared in the Winnipeg City Directories from 1952 to 1954. Richard first appeared in the Hamilton City Directories living at 22 Ray Street North from 1970-74; at 187 George Street 1975-78; at 398 Charlton Avenue West 1981-96. He was listed as working for Dundas Traders 1970-73; Canada Coach 1974 -81; Hamilton Street Railway 1982-96. Was living in Ontario in 1993 when his brother Brian died. Richard owned a company, Dundas Traders, a used furniture store. Then worked for 22 years in the maintenance department of the Hamilton Street Railway. Died from an aneurysm.

Suddenly on Saturday, November 23, 1996, at the Hamilton General Hospital, in his 64th year. Beloved husband of Arlene. Loved father of Ruth, Paul and Anna-Marie. He was also a part-time security guard at the Hamilton Public Library (downtown). She met and later married James Albert (Bert) Thomson there in 1979. In 2000 was living in Ross Payant Long Term Care Home in Assiniboia, Saskatchewan. Agnes died in the Ross Payant Home. After a lengthy illness, on Saturday, October 6, 1979, at her home in Neepawa.
Funeral services were held from Knox Presbyterian Church, Tuesday, October 9 at 2 p.m. Interment followed at Riverside Cemetery.
Pallbearers were J. Johnstone, E. Tomlin, A. Harris, H. Bell, R. Craig, E. Kuharski.
Born Avis Mabel Margory Rouse at Plumas, Manitoba, September 10, 1917, then moving with the family to a farm at Kelwood in 1920. She attended school at Roskeen, Kelwood and Neepawa.
After a hairdressing course in Winnipeg, she did hairdressing in Neepawa until she married William Harold Thomson at Brandon on August 10, 1938.
Avis was a member of Knox Church and a dedicated member of the choir, a life member of the Women's Missionary Society. She taught Sunday School and helped with the Junior Choir. She was also a long time member of the Hospital Guild. She was a member of the Ladies Curling Club, active on the executive level, and one-time president of the Club.
Avis was predeceased by an infant son in 1942, and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Rouse. in 1960 and 1964.
She leaves to mourn her passing her husband Harold, one daughter, Mrs. Jane Woodcock and husband, Bill of The Pas. one son, John and wife, Louise of Winnipeg; two grandsons, David and Bruce Woodcock of The Pas, one sister, Mrs. Cecil Jackson (Polly) of Kelwood, several nieces and nephews.
